Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru – Frequently Asked Questions

People of different ages and different fitness levels all have a good chance of making the climb.

In Kilimanjaro the daytime temperature ranges between 20-27 Celsius. Depending on the month, the sun can be very high on Kilimanjaro, so it is important that you pack a high-factor sunscreen. Nighttime temperatures can range between 2-3 Celsius on the Shira Plateau to as low as -10. For those climbing in May, there is slight possibility of rain.

For both Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, we would be providing chemical toilet, which is transported up the mountain by the team of porters, we also supply the group rolls and tread water.
For Marangu route,( Mt Kilimanjaro) there will be a public toilet available on the site.

Each morning and evening, our climbers will receive a bowl of warm water and soap for washing; we also recommend packing baby wipes for regular cleaning purpose on each day.

We provide our climbers with a careful selection of ingredients that will give you the required nutrients for the trek. We can also cater to your entire special dietary requirements for all your meals. Snacks such as muffins, cookies, and biscuits are also provided during breakfast. Paired with coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

All of the water we supply to our climbers is treated and filtered using a Katadyn Water System, which ensures top quality water daily for drinking and food preparation.

We take many precautions to make sure your climb is safe. We carry all medical supplies that could possibly be required, from oxygen tanks to resuscitation equipment.

Everyone is assessed daily in the mornings and evenings for respiratory rate, heart rate, blood pressure and O2 saturation levels.
We can also provide full medical support to a qualified expedition doctor if needed at an additional cost per group.
